Enable Spam Filter In Microsoft Outlook 2003

To enable to the basic spam filter:
In Outlook:

Ensure that Outlook 2003 is
operating in cached mode. If
the word "Online" or
"Offline" appears in
the bottom right corner of
Outlook switch to cached mode.

enabling cached mode here.

To turn on the spam filter
select Actions > Junk
E-mail > Junk E-mail
Options.

Click High > OK. The
spam filter is now enabled.
In the Control Panel:

Login to the Control Panel
and click on Spam Settings.

Set Spam Filtering to Enabled.

Set the “Move to Junk
E-Mail” and
“Delete”
thresholds.
In OWA:
-
Login to OWA.
-
Select Options.
-
Click “Filter Junk
Email…”
-
Click Save and Close.
Microsoft Outlook 2003 will now
move any emails that it determines
to be spam into the "Junk
E-mail" folder. You should go
through this folder on a periodic
basis to clean it out, as well as
to check for legitimate emails
mistakenly caught by the spam
filter.
If there is an email in the Junk
E-mail folder that is not spam,
right-click on the email and
select
Junk E-mail > Mark as
Not Junk.
